Catherine Ruskin is a Simpsonville-based mixed media artist holding her Bachelor of Arts from Clemson University. Her work is motivated by significant pieces of familial and personal memory. Attempting to encapsulate the fragility of specific moments in time, she sources aged media and combines it with contemporary visual culture. Her process began with her love of collecting secondhand pieces and giving forgotten materials a new life through collage. Screen printing was later incorporated into her technique; she now focuses on conjoining these processes while exploring new mediums.
